HubPages Tips and Tricks: Best 5 free guides on how to make money online
78As I have been writing and endeavouring to make money online with HubPages for 3 months now, I thought it might be interesting to share with new writers and more established writers who feel they are underachieving the free guides on HubPages tips and tricks that I have discovered and decided are the best. Unfortunately, not everyone offering advice on HubPages is giving sound guidance and it takes some time to sift out the wise voices from the foolish and misleading ones, which can be confusing for new writers. On top of that, for some reason there are many people who write guidelines on how to make money online with HubPages within a few weeks of joining the site (sometimes they write them within days or even hours) – these free guides in almost all cases are either too insubstantial to be of any use and/or contain a lot of misleading, or frankly just plain bad information. This article is not one of those, instead it links to guides on how to make money online with HubPages by experienced HubPages writers who know what they are talking about.
I would like to raise two notes of caution, however, just before you jump in and get going. Firstly, although I can vouch that the information in the guides below is substantially correct, there are a few instances where minor pieces of information are out of date. This is usually because of things such as the recent HubPages rule changes. Secondly, I would point out that the HubPages site as a whole was hit hard by the Google algorithm changes in late February 2011 and although it is now successfully recovering, some of the figures given for earnings may possibly be slightly lower now than they were when the hub was written. The general principles of maximizing traffic and HubPages earnings remain the same, however.
One final thing. I am not suggesting in any way that this best 5 list of HubPages tips and tricks is in any way exhaustive or exclusive. There are other great free guides out there. These 5 suggestions below do provide an excellent starting point, however. Note that I have also included only one link for each writer of the guides - in practice, they all often have more than one hub relating to how to make money online with HubPages and you would be highly recommended to read more, but I am not going to link to them all, as I am sure that you will be able to find them for yourself.
1. WryLilt - Everything I wish I knew when I joined Hubpages
WryLilt is an experienced hubber from Australia who, as well as writing great hubs, often makes a valuable contribution to the Hubpages forums. Her Everything I wish I knew when I joined Hubpages guide is a must read for every new hubber, in my opinion.
2. Susana S - A Review of the Amazon Affiliate Program - Sell Products Online & Earn Money
Susana S specializes in writing pages aimed at selling products via HubPages and making money from the cut she receives from the vendor, usually Amazon. Her A Review of the Amazon Affiliate Program - Sell Products Online & Earn Money is an excellent reference point for all those who want to learn HubPages tips and tricks that relate to being an Amazon affiliate.
3. Peter Hoggan - Free Online SEO Training Course
Peter Hoggan has written an entire course in SEO (search engine optimization) which is solid, substantial and worth reading in its entirety. You should start with Free Online SEO Training Course.
4. Sunforged - The 60DC Curriculum - How to make a passive income writing online
Sunforged often brings his dry wit to the HubPages forums and is from ‘the second star to the right’ according to his profile. Joking apart, however, he knows what he's talking about and his hub: The 60DC Curriculum - How to make a passive income writing online is another one of my must read suggestions for those who wish to learn all the essential HubPages tips and tricks.
5. Mark Knowles - The Best Easy Way to Make Money Online is to Open a Hubpages Account
Mark Knowles is an intelligent presence on HubPages. His hub: The Best Easy Way to Make Money Online is to Open a Hubpages Account is worth reading more than once, if you want to take in all the information he gives along with the practical examples. You don’t get 4000 followers for nothing!

No problem, farahzachzia. I have been meaning to put this hub together for some time. There is good and bad advice out there, but I have tried to gather together links to the best info that I am aware of. It is a lot of info to take in, however, so don't expect to learn it all in a few hours or days. I am still learning how to make the most of HubPages three months down the line, but I am enjoying the challenge!

As I mention in the hub, for those of us wanting to make money online with HubPages, life has not been easy since February when Google slapped HubPages and made hubs less visible. In some ways that makes SEO even more important! :-)

Thanks for the positive feedback. I wanted to put together the hubs and hubbers that I had found most useful in one place. Unfortunately there is spurious info floating around out there, as well as good. Susana's Amazon article about product hubs is very good. Though I think that like with everyone, she has seen a drop in sales since the Google algorithm changes.

At the moment I am trying to insert my hub articles on hub directories and it's quite difficult to understand how to do it properly. I read to try tweetfeed.com but although is quite straigh forward they require the article's date in the RSS URL that you are supposed to send and I couldn't work it out how to do that
