Best portable speaker: X-mini II Capsule Speaker (Review)

I do not usually write portable speaker reviews, but my wife and I bought an X-Mini II Capsule Speaker - Pink from Amazon for our thirteen year old daughter and to say that we were impressed is an understatement. I’ve got to say that it is one of the best decisions that we have ever made. Having tried out many portable mini sound speakers, I can honestly say that the X-mini II Capsule Speaker Pink is the best portable speaker that I have heard. It has so much going for it and is great value for such an awesome piece of technology! They sell them in a whole range of colors, the sound volume and quality of these mini capsule speakers is truly magnificent and they are genuinely portable, as they are pocket-sized and you need no power leads, instead you recharge them using a usb lead (though they last a long time before they need recharging in my experience).

I’ll be honest, I am an audio snob and my expectations for the quality of the audio that the portable speaker would be capable of putting out were very low - but the sound quality of the X-mini II Capsule Speaker Pink is unbelievably good for such a small device! I’ve tried some of these portable devices before and been left feeling very disappointed both by the quality and the loudness, but this has both a genuinely potent amount of volume and the best portable speaker sound in terms of fidelity that I have heard - it really is just remarkable when you consider the size of the X-mini II Capsule Speaker Pink.

The term “pocket-sized” is used and abused too often in my opinion, but the X-mini II Capsule Speaker Pink really is pocket-sized, that’s to say it will go inside your jacket pocket without any trouble, another thing that makes it the best portable speaker. It is around the size of a yo-yo (oldies will remember them from the 1970s!) and it opens and closes concertina style. That means that you can basically take them anywhere!

The design is another great thing that this portable mini speaker has got going for it. We wouldn’t have even considered getting a X-mini II Capsule Speaker Pink for our picky and fashion sensitive thirteen year old, if it didn’t look so techno, trendy and cool! They also do them in black, white, red, and silver, but our daughter said she preferred the girly pink one!

There are no electric leads or batteries needed, you just connect your audio lead from your sound device (MP3 player, ipod, laptop etc) to the X-mini II Capsule Speaker Pink when you want to play audio. It recharges with a usb lead, so you can just plug the X-mini II Capsule Speaker Pink into your PC or laptop, or whatever, like you would do with an ipod. That’s another thing that makes it extra convenient, in my opinion.
